Summer Youth Volunteer Program 2011
Established in 1993, the Women In Needs Center is the only non-profit organization in the country founded specifically to address the needs of interracially married Korean women. Women In Need Center is seeking committed and energetic youth volunteers who are age from 12 to 17 and interested in volunteering at least 100 hours during summer in exchange for service project hours, a nomination for president’s volunteer service awards and resume-building professional work experience.
The Center’s Summer Youth Volunteer Program is really huge opportunity for Youth to promote their leadership skills as well as learn the value of volunteerism. During the three-month commitment, youth volunteers can experience the respect, encouragement, and responsibility involved in dynamic and various Fundraising events.
The WINC summer Youth Program is divided into four subcategories from which you can choose from.
- Art Project – the jewelry and art project will assist residents in Women In Need Center with the fundraising craft project. There are many jobs you can do to help including productions from jewelry, soaps to flower-pressed bookmarkers.
- Landscaping and Shelter decoration – this project makes the shelter be more neat and vibrant places to stay. We need energetic youth to assist with mowing the grass at the shelter and work on flowerbeds.
- Fundraising event – one day food house, piggy bank, and garage sale
Our summer youth volunteer program is volunteer-led, and you will see tangible results from your commitment to this program.

Summer Youth Volunteer Program
The Women In Need Center developed a summer service program for young people to volunteer and work together in groups to accomplish projects. For three months during the summer, the volunteers work to gather information for important public events as well as working to design advertisements for the events. The volunteers are given an opportunity to take charge and be leaders of groups and see the importance of being part of a team and taking on roles of duty and responsibility while allowing them to learn how to encourage and respect one another.
